Pangkor Island, Perak State Malaysia
A daytrip reacquainted with family. Beach fun in the sun. I enjoyed every second of it. My sister’s house is about 20 km from Lumut town where the jetty to Pangkor island is. I drove my car to Lumut town , parked it and off we took a ferry to Pangkor Island. I’ve been there many years ago with school friends but this time also ‘school friends’ except they are my nephews who were 10 years junior.

Arriving at Pangkor Island, there were motorbikes and bicycle hires; we rented a car for half day instead. It was low season with handful of international tourist. Beside Pangkor Island, there is smaller private island on the southwestern side called Pangkor Laut. Pangkor Island is home to one of Asia's expensive resort, Pangkor Laut Resort. The chalets sit on stilts by the shore, has a glass floor that one can see ocean life from their individual chalet. A very close friend of mine had their valentine celebration there last year. We didn't go there, only spending our bliss at the Pasir Bogak Beach and Teluk Nipah bay at the western side of Pangkor Island.
The car that I rented cost me RM for 5 hours. The motorbikes option RM30 a piece, made it RM 60 for 2 I choose for car instead, lot safer as these kids get rowdy on the road. The owner called us when we missed the scheduled time to return in, his reason there was other tourist wanted to hire his car.
