Our day began like every other day at Benjamins Huts with a great breakfast- I had the vegetable omelet (for about 25 days in a row). Breakfast was always a pretty funny experience when ordering from the waitress Pao from Lao- she was a trip. She thought she always knew our orders before hand but with one switch up everybody would be laughing. The best was when Joe ordered a big water and the bus boy came back with a big Singha at 8am- Joe would be known as Big Singha from that point on. So after breakfast we went swimming and did the usual swim down to the Sea Flower boat and hung out till it was time for lunch.
While eating our lunch a guy came in and was handing out flyers for some Muay Thai fights later down at Thong Sala- it was like 9 fights for 600 baht.

We figured that we hadn't been to the fights yet so tonight was a good time to check it out. Since earlier in the trip we'd missed some stuff by not knowing what was going on, so today we scouted the location and it seemed to be in a back alley of sorts. It was always pretty cool to hit up Thong Sala as it was quite busy in relation to the rest of the island and buy some stuff.

Night rolled in and it was time to roll out to the fights- we tried to recruit zee germans but the 600 baht was not in their budgets. So we rolled down and they now had the alley blocked off with big metal walls. We got in, bought some beers and various meats on sticks and waited for the place to fill up. Eventually it was packed and the weird music started followed by weird dancing in the ring, and followed by some ass kickin Muay Thai action. Some of the fights weren't that hot but others were straight brawls. When the fight was for money or between two Thai guys they were really tight. On the other hand some of the guys didn't seem to respect the craft all that much and were there just to say they fought in Thailand- these were not very good fights. Overall the whole experience was a good time that I would suggest doing when in Thailand.
