We were finally leaving Europe after being there for 13 days more than we had planned due to the volcano- it was pretty weird as we had been getting quite used to hanging out in Rome. We had already had two previous flights canceled and it felt good to know this one was really going to happen. We left from Rome at 12:15pm on Tuesday with a layover in Dublin and the landed in NYC at 8pm still Tuesday. Our plan was not to get a hotel room and just stay up until we caught our train back to Ohio that was at 3:30pm Wednesday. So upon entering back into the USA and our last night out we went to the bars, but first we had to do something with our bags. We could not lug them around town all night and day, so we checked them at the Amtrak Station in Penn Station until we picked them up at 1pm the next day.

We then went out and drank a good amount until the wee hours. We decided to sit around at the train station and kill some time until sunrise as it was very windy and cold, but that was a bad idea, the train station was more like thunder dome and anything went down there. We decided to exit that area and find the nearest diner to smash some food and drink some coffee, it wasn’t far and we waited till the sun came up to wander the city some more. We eventually made it to Central Park and checked that out, then hit up the apple store to get Joes I pod fixed, and roamed about China Town. Overall it was a good day in NYC. We caught that train at 3:30pm after about 40hrs of being awake- it was time to crash.
