A few hours in Italy after a night of utter crap

We spent the last hours of Dubrovnik looking around, wasting time, and waiting for our ferry. I love that city, but it smells like old eggs that have been soaking in sulfer. Gross. Our ferry to Bari left Dubrovnik at 11PM and Ev and I had no cabin and only had the deck of the ferry to sleep on like fools. We were fools. It was the worst night of my life. We slept on a box that holds life jackets. Yeah. Nice. I tossed and turned and knotted up the sleep sack that I finally got to use and everything that we pulled out ended up smelling like the Dubrovnik waters within moments. Beautiful. For some reason I thought I'd be able to sleep like a baby, but all in all I probably slept about three and a half hours total and Ev probably about two.
When we docked, we made our way to the ferry booking station to immediately. Ev and I were determined to book a cabin of any kind...dorm...private...anything...there is still another ferry ride after this one and three sleepless nights in a row will make us something-something... The ferry booking office didn't open for another hour and we were not the only sleep deprived people in the lobby. The last ferry from the night before was two hours delayed and didn't come in until 8:30 PM....a half an hour after the last ferry for the night. We waited and waited for the Superfast Ferries to open as it gives us a discount for having Eurail passes.
You would think that it would not be hard to find a place that serves a nice bowl of Spaghetti in Italy at the noon hour. If this is the case, you would also find yourself as surprised as we. We walked around aimlessly for a while until finding a little place with spaghetti for 5 euros each... Not bad... I walk in an a short, overweight, blonde, old lady ran up to me with arms waving and shouting and pointing at her watch.
We finally found a place but they said we'd have to wait for 15 minutes because the kitchen closes until 12:30. Weird. Fine. That's fine. We both get a seafood spaghetti that had crawdads, muscles, squid, and other yummies. It was good, but I dont know if it was good enough to go so far out of our way to Italy instead of taking a train through Montenegro Bulgaria to go to Greece. Oh well. We killed a bit more time until it was 4 and we could finally board the ferry...and hopefully sleep.
(I'm sure you get that we are safely in Santorini now, but I want to make sure we get all this down and remembered...so we'll slowly catch up to where we are now...and there's photo uploading here too..so there will be pics soon... there's just so much to do and see here that we don't want to plop ourselves in front of the computer for hours on end at one time... :))
