The Greatest Sunset ever!

I woke up this morning completely surprised with the great weather outside. The report said it was going to be another terrible snowy day, but instead I found that the sky was perfect for photos! Enough sunlight and loads of interestingly thick clouds! Instead of spending the nice day inside museums like I thought I would do, I decided to drive out to the Saltair marina and along the narrow road until I found a small nook wide enough to park my car. I then climb over a locked gate and ran off to photograph an old heavily graffitied building and section from an old train. I was in heaven!!!

At one point an older man came by and told me a little bit of history of the area.. The main building had closed due to a fire and some terrible flooding years ago.
He said there use to be a boardwalk stretching far out toward the lake. Now all that is left is a shell of a building and a train cab, a few other small remnants of the past along with trash from local visitors. The boardwalk is no longer there..

My camera battery died before I could finish taking pictures. :( Thus causing me to leave my new playground and return to the hotel room to quickly recharge my battery so that I could return for the sunset..

I'm soooo happy that I did return! That sunset was possibly the greatest sunset I have ever seen!! I sat on the steps of the old marina and watched the evening colors explode across the sky. I tried to walk out to the lake, but the mud was too sloppy to walk through. My shoes kept sticking and several times I almost lost them!!! HAHA that seems to be a common occurrence with me these days!

Still it was perfect!! Definitely beyond my camera skills!
