Woke up at 4:40am this morning.  That's 6:40 in Houston!!! augh!  I couldn't go back to sleep so I watched Clue on the TV!  We left our hotel at 8am.  We drove to the bay area in like 15 min.  We had no idea where to eat so as we were driving through, we saw a BK and just ate breakfast there.

Blue & Gold - Alcatraz We booked our tickets about 2 wks ahead of time.  Call Blue & Gold Fleet for reservations.  These tickets sell out fast.  We were on the dock at 9am waiting for the ferry when we heard the announcement say the next available would be 11:45 am the next day!!  Anyways, at Pier 41 is where you take the ferry.  You will hear sea lions so take a stroll to chk them out.  Alcatraz was great!  We didn't do the audio coz we tend to not follow along, but it's up to yall if you want to use it.

You can get a $1 map to show you where to go in Alcatraz and it briefly explains what is what.

Pier 39 - We walked around the Pier.  There was some Hispanic event going.  High school students were performing and there was also a Mariachi band.  We didn't really watch too much coz we see a lot of that in Houston.  Anyways, we walked around looking for a place to eat.  There's a bunch of restaurants that served the clam chowder in the sourbread bread bowl and fish and chips.  We decided to eat lunch at Hook & Cook and ordered exactly that mentioned.  But instead of clam, Anthony ordered chicken coz of his shell-fish allergy!!  It was good anyway!

Fisherman's Wharf

Musee Mechanique - This is free.

Outdoor Recreation area of Alcatraz
Make sure you stop by when you are in Fisherman's Wharf.  It's cool - displays a bunch of old school circus "arcade" games.  They still work, make sure you bring a lot of quarters!

Ghirardelli - aah, get a sundae!!  Delicious!  Also, there's a place called Frjtz' Fries.  We didn't get to eat there, but they server fries and you can choose from 13 dipping sauces!

USS Jeremiah and USS Pampanito, SF Historical Maritime Park - We didn't actually go into the ships.  We headed to the Maritime museum but they were closed for renovations! augh!  So we just stayed a little bit at the park.

Lombard - Walk up Hyde Street to end up at the top of Lombard.  Stroll down Lombard.  Afterwards, go get your car and drive through the street!

China Town - crowds of people like any China town!  We were walking around looking for dinner to take with us!  We ended up at this hole-in-the-wall which served meals to-go.

Fisherman's Wharf
I had no idea if we could order smaller portions of the bbq pork, so I ordered 1 lb! LOL  Pork and rice - omg that was fit for 4 people. LOL  It was only $5!  What a steal!

Union Square - just drove through.  Not like we don't have the same stores in Houston. :P

Tried to go back to 80West to head towards Japantown but ended up going East.  Decided to chk out Univ. of Berkeley.  Walked around campus like we were students!

We went to a lot of the same places when we drove cross country last summer...except we didn't go to Alcatraz. We couldn't reserve it because we didn't know what day we would arrive there!
