Miners' Fan by Default

Rene’ and I had said we ought to go to another Miners' game since we’d bought t-shirts showing our allegiance at the last one. As luck would have it, being a fan of the Miners on facebook allowed us free tickets on facebook night. So, once again, we drove down to Marion to cheer on the Southern Illinois Miners. A friend of Rene’s, Ashley, also went with us. It was, for lack of a better word, a strange game. Ball after ball was hit into the parking lot, fouled out of bounds. Plus, a player broke a bat and another threw a bat. And, this was all in the first two innings.
The game was against the Evansville River Otters, and I could have become their fan – their first baseman is hot. Anyway – we left at the end of the second inning, it had taken two hours to get that far, but we wanted custard from a local custard stand, but they closed at 9 o’clock (something we found out with the convenience of technology; we checked on our Devours). The score was 5-2, Miners lead. I checked the next day, and that score remained – Miners won!
