We have our class times now, so when you want to book the dates, we can let you know how much free time we have. As it stands, Julia and I never work weekends, also we have Tuesdays off (which is the 11th) and i have all Fridays off too, whilst Julia has all Mondays off at this time of year! So we would be pretty free most of the time - either 5 or 6 classes a week is all we teach (10-12 hours). So realistically any time is good :)

Have you thought about flights yet? If you fly to Harbin, it is then a 2 hour journey by bus to Daqing. There is an airport in Daqing proper, but its still about an hours drive from there to the centre, so not much difference! It will probably be cheaper to fly to Harbin and transfer. Alternatively there is a direct train to Daqing from Beijing, but im not sure David will fit, although if you take a top bunk then his feet can hang over into the corridor :) Also the beds were long enough for me +bag at the end so i guess 6'2ish in length - which i know still isnt big enough :)

For Beijing it depends what you call the 'Beijing area' and also what you want to see. I think a week for the City is enough, but if you want to go to places like Datong (5-6 hours by train one way) then obviously you could use 2 weeks.

LOL.... It worked!!!! We are going to see you around May 11..... (but we're really loose on the dates and can change if it's not good for you two...)Do you have an estimate of how long it would take to see the Beijing area?... we were looking at two weeks but is that too long?... we are still tossing it around...
