The drive from Williams to LA where a LONG drive! We decided to stay on the old route 66 as much as we could passing by several small towns and stopping a few hours in Oatman. We arrived San Bernadino and thought LA where "just around the corner" before we found out that it was more than 40miles to downtown LA and Culver City where i was supposed to meet up with Mr. Travbuddy Eric.
We just made it to Culver only 25minutes late and met up with Eric at the gastropub "Fathers Office". Eric was so kind to pay for our burgers and two beers! That man is just the kindness himself as he was in the middle of planning his wedding to lovely Lisa. We had a good night out before we headed to the Stay Hotel which really is a Branch of the Cecil Hotel. The Cecil Hotel has the lowest rates in downtown and is really rundown, but the two floors that the "Stay" are using have been refursbished a couple of years ago.
Eric recomended the "Getty Center" and this was a really good experience. The Getty Center is located close to Bel Air close to the most busy highway in the world. Big surprise its located in LA right? hehe
The Getty center itself is a brand new building with a lot of different exhibits and tours which are really informative. We took the Architechture tour where the guide pointed out the different "abnormalities" in the building. It was really good and is highly recomended.
After around 4hours at the Getty Center we decided to drive Mulholland Drive to Hollywood.
We then walked up and down the Walk of Fame finding people we know. I found all the Stars i wanted to find like William Shatner , Gene Roddenberry, Leonard Nimoy , Shatner , Stewart , Deforrest Kelley, Lewar Burton , Chuck Norris and many more.
We met someone dressed as spock and off course i wanted to take a picture together with him! We also bought a rap cd of an artist called "50/Fifty". He is not really any good, but I really like unreleased music so it wasnt so bad.
The next morning we headed to Universal Studios and did that experience. It was OK and my favorite ride was "Simpsons - The ride" We then went home and decided to leave LA the next day.
