Rotterdam, Holland: where old meets new...

With my two friends I ended up back in Roosendaal, where I live, after a tour through France and Belgium. All very cool to see the beautiful things in Paris and Antwerp, but my friends were also interested in what there was to see in my neighbourhood. I never saw my area as a touristic destination, but forced by those two girls I started thinking about what I could show them.

It ended up to be a great couple of days here in the South of Holland. We went to see windmills, of course! We started with some modern ones and ended up in the old town Tholen where there is a very nice traditional one as well. We went birdspotting on a big dam that is a real bird paradise, and we went to the old city Bergen op Zoom to have a look around and see the old buildings and the old palace you can find there.

And very close to my house we went to have a beer (a couple of beers) in the centre of Roosendaal, and we went skiing in a indoor skislope that is only 6 minutes from my house. For all of us it was the first time; some first experiences went well, some ended up in the snow... Have a look at the pictures...

And after all this we went on to see the small copy of the Saint Peter's Basilica, we went to the modern city Rotterdam, to the beach in The Hague and finally to old Amsterdam. From this last part of the trip I hardly have pictures unfortunately...
