Three months in paradise

Jacob, the most famous inhabitant of Sainte Anne, Guadeloupe

Imagine the following day: waking up with view over the Caribbean Sea, going to school for four hours to learn your favourite language, go home to have lunch, spend the rest of the day on the beach, until sunset, go home to have dinner and then go to the bar for a nice rhum cocktail, a game of pool and a nice chat with some friends. And during the weekends you go and explore some Caribbean islands, another one every weekend... Now doesn't that sound like paradise? Well, that was my life for three months in 2008, when I went to Guadeloupe to improve my French!

Do you believe in love at first sight? Absolutely, I had it when I was on Guadeloupe, and I'm still in love with this French island in the West Indies. Her (yep, Guadeloupe is a "she") language, her beaches, her tropical forests, her rhum, her blue waters, her waterfalls, her music... The island simply has everything you can wish for. In three months I saw almost everything you can see on the island, and the smaller islands around it and it's all impressive.

I never felt homesick in my life, until I came back from three months on Guadeloupe. I missed it a lot, and actually I still miss it when I'm looking at the pictures you're seeing here...
