Overlooking the fjord in Oslo, Norway

Normally I wouldn't go to the same country twice in a short period of time, but our Irish friends of Ryan Air changed this principle for me in 2009. A return ticket to Oslo that only costed me 2 euro's was enough for me to decide to go back to Norway. No summer in Bergen this time though, but winter in Oslo. And this time together with my brother.

Oslo is not a normal capital in Europe: it does have everything a capital should have: a big shopping centre, a royal palace, embassies, but for some reason it doesn't really feel like a capital simply because it is pretty small and it has a nice vibe. The area around the royal palace feels very classy, the centre with its shops and restaurants has a very hip atmosphere and when you go towards to the port with the old fort and the modern bars around it you feel how relaxed Oslo can be.

And when the sun set at four o'clock in the afternoon Oslo changed again. The classy, hip and relaxed city becomes a fantastic place to party. And although the beers are incredibly expensive here, the Norwegians really know how to make a party! For that too, Oslo is the bomb!
