Great aid for tanning: which factor to use depending on your skin colour

It was 18 hr trip  from Amsterdam to Rio, the layover at Sao Paulo was messy, had to jump the queu to get to my connecting flight in time. Just had 5 min to light up a cigarrete (for some reason it tasted horrible, dry airplane air and  t hen heat and humidity, damn I should quit :D)

Coming from -5 C to the 40 degrees in Rio was a bit of a shock. That plus the facts that all ATM´s reduce the amount you can take out in the evening so I was getting into trouble with  the landlord I had promised to pay the remaining 50% rent on the appartment. Brazilians are extremely talkative and friendly, except when it comes to money. He was not amused, but  next morning we solved it when the ATM´s start disgorge large amounts again.

Wanda and Eleen (our carioca guide who can spill out 1000 words a minute on Rio)
(it´s a precaution against ATM "quickjacks").

Met up with a TB, Wanda from Texas, [edit] amazing person and very helpful TB [/edit] doing non stop travelling. She already had some great connections so got us tickets for the Sambadrome on sunday cheap, whohoo!

For the rest I´m still reeling from heat shock and culture shock and basically taking it easy. Copacabana and Ipanema beach are really quiet during the week and a pretty nice place to do nothing at all. But during the weekend the beach is like an anthill with people lying almost body to body. It´s funny how that isn´t bothersome at all, if this was to happen in Europe people arriving at the beach and seeing the crowd would just turn around and head back home with their beach umbrellas.

Just saw it! Congradulations. Will never forget that chapter in the book, full of vitality and wonderments. Have a nice journey home, and know that you probably left a part of your heart everywhere you roamed.
