We went to the train station--which by the way was not all that scary and jumped on the train on our way to Jaisalmer. We were on A/C Three Tier. First time on an Indian train for the next 19hours. The rest of our group was able to travel together on the train, but Meike and I were left alone with an unknown Indian family. Everyone was happy to get out of Delhi and to be able to finally get some sun.
The night on the train wasn't bad, although we did see a tiny mouse!! and I was able to get a couple of hrs sleep. We finally arrived in Jaisalmer and could feel the sun on my back. Although it was dusty it was so much better than delhi.
We are on our way to the hotel and get a glimple of the fort, what a view. We arrive at the hotel and what a great surprise, sooo beautiful and peaceful. After freshining up we are off on our orientatioin walk, and on our way to the Centotaph--where we wait for the sun to set. It was very nice, the contrast of the desert, sky and the kids.
We went to a roof top restaurant, the food and the view were super nice. Great service, great flavours and we even had some entertainment.
The next day we were on our way to the Camel Safari. Now it was supposed to be camping, but WOW. This was by no means camping. The tents were huge, and we had beds, with a table, two chairs, two lamps with an ADJOINING bathroom, complete with western style toilets and a shower.
