Loschwitz is a section of Dresden (on the same side of the Elbe as Neustadt) that is famous for wine-growing, it's three small castles and the "Blue Wonder" bridge that connects Loschwitz to the Blasewitz section of Dresden.  The three castles (Elbschlösser- Elbe Castles) are:  Albrechtsberg Palace, Lingnerschloss and Eckberg Castle.  Unfortunately, we couldn't visit the insides, but they were beautiful on the outside, especially in all the snow.  That was still coming down.  Yup, I went on a two-hour walking tour in the snow.

I feel like I did this before.  Oh yeah, Prague... Zlicin... FedEx.  At least this time I wasn't alone, and someone knew where they were going.

After we saw the castles, some wine-growing terraces, and a wonderful view of the Elbe, it was time to get up close and personal with the river.

And to do that, we had to first hike to a road that led to a steep trail.  And on this trail, there was ice underneath a couple inches of snow.  So it was a slow way down, but I did fine... until the end.  Yup, at the bottom, I ended up on my bottom.  It was like it was in slo-mo- My feet slid out from under me, I was still holding on to the railing and BOOM.  In front of people, too.  Fun.  Anyway, I was okay, and walked it off.

Walking along the Elbe in snow wasn't bad, the street was pretty clear since people live there.  We saw plenty of tasty looking ducks (hmm.... Peking Duck... yummy...) and then we walked away from the river and into town until we got to the "Blue Wonder" bridge.  From there, it was the trek back towards school.  Except I went to the grocery store, to prepare for a weekend in since Saturday was the big Extreme Left/ Extreme Right demonstrations (anniversary of the Dresdem firebombing in WWII) and on Sunday nothing's open.
