Merkers Salt mine - with some stories to tell

This Monday morning was a rainy day and a holiday. We were actually planing to go out and discover the surounding area by walking. But because of the non-stopping rain we had to change our plans. My cousin asked me if we are interested to see the Salt Mine Merkers. I did not really know what to except. My parents told me a little bit about it, they said we should go and see it, it is quite interesting to see. So we reserved some seats by phone(always recomended to make reservation- it can get really busy - specially on a rainy holiday!!!).
When we got there all tours were fully booked. They have several tours going. When you got your ticket (it is a metal ring) you have to write down in a list your name and the number of people in your group. Stick around because they will call the people who are going on the next tour and it could ne you! I am telling you this because that is exactly what happened to us. My cousin what a cup of coffee and about 5 minutes later they called our name and because we did not show up we got moved to the next tour (30 minutes later)....
We spent 3 1/2 exciting hours in the mine The mine area has the size like a big city with suburbs. It was a fantastic day and well worth spent money and time!
And good to know when we came back out it was still the same rainy weather so we did not miss anything out there! ;-)
