On to Laos!

We had an awesome sleep last night – the beds were so comfy! Then the best shower, so much water pressure! We met up for a buffet breakfast before heading off to the Laos border in tuk tuks.
After crossing the border, we got on the bus for a 6-ish hour drive to Vang Vieng. These travel days are actually getting a lot easier, I guess i'm just getting more used to them! We had some awesome tunes pumping, and had a little bit of a sing along, and after clearing out one of the little road side stops of their bottles and cans of Beerlao, we had quite the party bus going. David busted the entire thriller dance when the song came on, which we totally weren't expecting because he's been pretty quiet and seemed really shy up to this point! It was awesome! We got to our bungalows and basically went straight to dinner to this place called Oh La La!.. the hostess and our server were both Canadian, which was pretty cool! It's even more cheap here than Thailand – a free bucket with 4 meals, free shots of whiskey everywhere, and meals are only $2-$4. This town is a pretty cool little place,,, there are only two main strips, and every 2nd or 3rd place is a restaurant, and in between are shops all basically selling the exact same shirts, shorts, sunglasses, etc. The restaurants are all pretty cool.. instead of a table and chairs, you take your shoes off and climb up onto these couch type things with pillows and a table top that you can sit across legged at... and EVERY restaurant is playing episodes of either Friends, Family Guy, or the Simpsons. Basically, you choose where you want to eat based on which TV show you feel like watching. This town is also VERY touristy.. you see far more Canadians/Europeans/Aussies than you do Laotians. Kinda strange. The big thing this place is known for is tubing, which by the sounds of it, is a bit of a gong show! We'll be doing that tomorrow, so I'll go into as much detail as I remember in my next blog:)
