Yesterday was a very uneventful day – so much so that it doesn't even warrant its own journal entry. Aside from going out for lunch, we stayed at the guesthouse for the day, then went to the train station around 4 to board the night train to Bangkok.

We got in at about 7 this morning, and headed to the next guesthouse – Wild Orchid Villa. After getting breakfast there and being lazy for a couple hours, we headed over to MBK – this crazy huge amazing mall. There are 5 or 6 stories, and this mall literally has everything you could imagine. So me and some of the girls got a wash and blowdry at one of the salons – since blowdrying our hair hasn't been available. Best $6 I've ever spent :) We walked around and shopped for 4 or 5 hours, and only covered about 1/3 of the mall. Pretty crazy! We went back to the guesthouse, which was an adevnture in itself - the tuk tuk we happen to choose was wearing a red shirt and had a red flag hanging from the tuk tuk - something we didn't notice til we were already driving! For those who having been keeping up, there are political protests going on right now in Thialand, red shirts are those who are protesting the current government, yellow shirts are defending it. Anyway, the ride home ended up taking up 3 times as long, since he took us through all the red zone's protesting. It was pretty amazing to see, and everyone was actually very friendly - very peaceful protesting. Although, I'd be peaceful too with the number of police guarding around everywhere!

When we finally did get back, we headed out right away for a group dinner to an indian restaurant called Bombay Blues. The food was amazing, and drinks are massive! We stayed there for a good part of the night – drinking and dancing – then walked over to Khaosan Rd, which is a really backpacker-ish road/area, that has all sorts of markets, restaurants, and bars, at all times of the day or night. So we went to Shamrock Irish Pub, where there was a pretty good live band playing (playing cover songs), then went to β€œThe Club” afterwards for more dancing! Awesome night! :)
