Today is a rainy day. No sun when I open the curtains.
After the breakfast we take the tram for a ride:). Now I have a problem with the Andante macine: it will not validate. the driver is verey patient and tries my car d several times, then Carolines card with no result. I expect ot be thrown off, but he resets the complete tram and uses the validator in the back of the tram. That works and we may continue.
We stay on the tram until the Torre dos Clerigos where we get off for a walk to the Praça da Libertade to take the Red bus -red line- to the museum of contemporary art. We have to be very patient, but after some time it arrives and we can hop-on (second day)
At the museum we hop-off. With our Porto Card we get the best deal to enter.
Art is in the eye of the beerholder.
When we arrive at the bus stop we wait another 20 minutes and hop-on the same bus and driver as we hopped-off. This time we sit until the museum of the electrical tram.
We arrive early, lunchtime is not over yet, so we walk around and inspect the rails, the trees with flowers, and we seek shelter for the rain that comes now and again.
At 14:30 we may enter. It is a nice little museum, that shows the devellopment of the electrical tram from the beginning until now.
For a tram/train madman (like me) this is a must, but longer than 1 hour is impossible.
We decide to walk to the town, but to our surprise the Red bus comes along, so we hop-on. On the waiting point near the Douro we hop-off and walk to café Flor, opposite the S. Bento station for coffee.
This evening we eat at the restaurant 'A Brasa' next to our hotel.
We have beaf and chicken from the grill, good taste, friendly service.
