Me and Christy rocking our sweet bathing suit covers!

The second day of our cruise brought us to Cococay.  It is a private island in the Bahamas that is owned by Royal Caribbean so our cruise ship was the only one there.  It’s a tiny little island but it was still a lot of fun.  Christy and I were feeling a little hungover from our crazy time in Nassau so we decided to take it easy.  Haha we had even wore our crazy touristy bathing suit covers that we had bought at the market the day before.  People were definitely staring but I think they were just jealous of our outfits!  We wanted to relax on the beach and work on our tans but we also wanted to try parasailing.

Me and Christy with our awesome parasailing guides!
We had never been before so we thought it would be fun to try.  We went to a little hut and they told us they were pretty full so we had to wait a few hours before we could go.  That was fine with me because I’m terrified of heights so this was a big deal.  I had no problem waiting a while!

We went and met up with the rest of my sorority sisters, half of which were already face down asleep in their chairs.  We hungout there for a while and took those corny group shots of all of us jumping in the air for next years recruitment video.  A couple of us broke off to go for a walk and explore around.  The island was cool and it was the prefect place to relax because there really wasn’t a whole lot to do there.  It was even too shallow for the ship to come close to the island.  We had to take a smaller boat from the ship to the island.

As the time drew nearer for our parasailing adventure, I started to get nervous.

Us above the cruise ship!
Christy and I decided to have a drink to calm ourselves down.  My beer helped a little but as we neared the boat, I started getting scared.  I was determined to do it though.  We had two guides on our boat and they were super cool.  We joked around with them the whole time and they made fun of me for being so scared.  They asked if I wanted to go first and there was no way!  There were about 10 people on our boat and when the first person was strapped in and was pulled up into the air, I became visibly upset.  I kept saying ‘Oh My God.  Oh My God.’ over and over again!  Thank the Lord it was tandem parasailing so I’d be with Christy.  It was finally our turn.  The guys strapped us in and the next think I know, the boat’s driving away and we are airborne.  It was scary but totally fun! I never realized how high up they actually went.  I felt like I was flying.  Christy looked over at me and said, “Now I know how Hermione feels!” Haha I love Harry Potter.
Parasailing!

It was actually very calm and peaceful when we were up there.  The view was spectacular.  We could see everyone on the island and our boat even drove by our cruise ship.  We were way above it and you could see all the decks and the people looked like little dots by the pool.  It’s hard to describe how unbelievably great it was.  I’m so glad I got up the nerve to do it.  I felt weightless and the only scary part was that the guide started to mess with the cable to scare me! Haha it worked but at least he stopped.  I’m not sure exactly how long we were in the air but it felt like forever.  As much as I loved it, I was still relieved when we started to come in.  Christy and I had a blast!  I would definitely do it again.

After our parasailing adventure, we laid around the beach some more catching some rays before it was time to go back to the ship and get ready for the night!
