crossing the mountains
We cancelled all booking and the whole trip to Zion, Grand Canyon and Monument Valley (<-- the last my another dream) because of the food poisoning but today we felt good enough to have one day trip. Zion is close enough to get there and come back. And so we left in the morning and arrived there by noon or so. In Hurricane or somewhere close to Zion there was a road contruction and a deviation... and the guy that was supposed to help people to get to their destinations gave us wrong directions and so we ended back in Arizona, some 30 miles away from where we should have been. RJ didnt believe me at first when i said to him we were lost, but finally we got back to that village where we took the wrong way and about 1 hour later we arrived finally in Zion.
ZION
I was nicely surprised by this cool place. The reddish and sometimes yellow rocks were so cool. Even road pavement was painted red - as the surrounding rocks. We left the car and put a bit to much clothes on (coz we saw snow on the mountains and we thought it were cold overe there... but the hike was pretty steep and we were too hot. We chose the hike to Angels Landing, but short before arriving on the top, there was so much snow, and it was so slippery that we couldnt reach the very top:///
RJ, on the way, was saying every 3 minutes "ok, that's Angels Landing, we can head back" hahahaha but i didnt believe him and kept hiking. The weather was so nice and sunny and the snow started to melt, but in the shadows parts it was still cold - lotsa icey places and kLumpel fell down just 2 sedonds after i have said "watcha, its slippery here" - then we were laughing about that so much that we couldnt climbe the steps ;) hhahahaha
On the way down to the car, at the path we saw also the deer, 3 adults and one deer-kid. They were not scared at all and just watched us...
Unfortunately it was getting late and we had to go back to Vegas. I was driving this time and RJ fell asleep again, and in Vegas, at the last few meters of the highway before turning home, i almost crashed into the right lane car. JeeeZ!! They should drive more carefully! No wonder there are so many car crashes in States! hahahahaha ;)
