We left Las Vegas and headed north to Death Valley. RJ let me drive his huge truck, which is pretty nice car, and for me that was the first experience in driving such a big vehicle. Unfortunately there was bad weather almost the whole day, but we saw the valley with its points of interests like 'Badwater', 'Golden Canyon', and more. We went also to the sand dunes and wanted to get into the Mosaic canyon, but the flooded roads did make it impossible. Bad luck! We couldnt get off road with the flood, so we headed back, towards Nevada. We made it without problems through the paved flooded roads but at the certain point, in the mountains the snow started to cover the road and we stuck there... almost. The car was too light to make it through the snow, it was too little traction and too much slippery, so that we almost landed in the ditch (side of the road).
driving the cool truck into the Death Valley
Then we stopped and collected some stones in order to make better balance in the car. Slowly very slowly we moved on, and meter by meter we broke through the snowy mountains. Behind us there were more cars that couldnt move safely in the snow also. Then after few kilometers by the speed not more than just 20km/h we reached Rhyolite - the ghost town. It's the abbandoned town in a gold mine. The gold was gone and so did the people. We didnt stay there long cos there was more and more of the snow. After we reached the village Beatty, it was low enough that the snow changed into rain. Then finally we reached Las Vegas.
