LIMA CITY!!
May 30, 2007
If u come here on the end of December, January, February or March be sure to go to ASIA!! biggg parties are over there and people goes crazy! nobody stays at Lima city! everybody move to the beach!!! and party in the beach clubs..beach houses, luaus! So, the best clubs this year were Joia and Cafe del Mar..but every year something new comes up!
In other season, Lima is interesting but if I were a tourist i would stay just a weekend in Lima..is enought to get around and to party!!! Well first of all..don't forget to visit the Gold Museum..and the Nation Museum!!
Go to Downtown Lima..but be careful..downtown is not like the best zone in Lima...but the main plaza is interesting..also u can shop cute things in the stores of the surrowdings:). Is not thattt dangerous but go with care.
Well, Miraflores is the turistic zone..and Larco Mar is a mall with the sea view...and over there at night there are to clubs that are well known: GOTICA and AURA! on thursdays go to Aura!rocks on thursdays! Fridays and Saturdays both are full! If u want to drink something before clubbing..u can go to Bartini bar o Mama Batata, they have life music and a good enviroment! (all of this is inside a place called Larco Mar in front of Marriot Hotel)
Also there is a club called Spa(at San Isidro)..and near Kennedy park in Miraflores there are plenty of bars and discos...like Bobo Bar...etc! so u can make a little tour!
Don't forget to drink a Pisco sour!our traditional peruvian drink! I prefere it mixed it with passion fruit. .so u should ask for a passion fruit pisco sour!
Another place that i recommend is Huaringas bar!!!! good drinks there! and is alwaysss busy! is at Miraflores but not close to Kennedy park..but it will be so good if u can go over there! is one of my favorites bars!
Some people say that the best pisco sour in the city is at La Calesa...just few steps far away from Spa disco.
On wednesdays if u like 80's music u can go to a place called El dragon in Barranco. Well Barranco has a lot of clubs, bars too but i don't like it too much but lots of tourists do..so u should take a look! Is full os places to have fun..those are old constructions and now pubs..discos. There is a place, kind of new called Saquara. .and well i just went once and I liked it! so i recommend it to u!
Peruvian food is GOOD! and I'm not telling that because of the fact im peruvian! is the true! i love it!
Our gastronomy is very famous internationally and Lima is well know for the amount of restaurants it has! Good restaurants in Lima are: Rosa Nautica (very traditional, in front of the sea..is a romantic place to dine), Cala(in front of the sea..love desserts over there!), Costa verde restaurant(near the sea too), Rodrigo(so good!is at Miraflores and well if u are trying to save some money don't go there hehe..but food is good!), Rafael(the serve the best Martinis of the city), Punto Blanco(near the see too), Senorio de Sulco, Astrid and Gaston(near Alcanfores street in Miraflores and they are very well known internationally), La Mar (is a 'cevicheria' that means the speciallity is ceviche and sea food!), Puntal sal(I recommend the local that is close to the sea in Miraflores)...Asia de Cuba at San Isidro and more!!!
Just dont forget to ask for ur CEVICHE!!!!!!!! our traditional dish! im sure u'll love it!!
Feel free to contact me if u want more info!! I'm a local and sure i could help! I know the feeling of being new!!
PD: Be careful with the taxi drivers..they drive to fast sometimes.
