The tower... she leans!

Day two in Italy started with the early morning ringing of bells... always a gamble when you stay in a converted former monastery. But at least it got us up and down to the continental-style breakfast (read: a few rolls, some Nutella and cereal if you're lucky... the coffee was excellent though!). Packing up our stuff we shoved it all in the car and headed to reception for instructions on how to get to the famous Leaning Tower. Pisa being quite a small city, it was well within walking distance so we headed out to clock the sights.
Pisa itself is quite a charming place and very Italian... lovely old buildings and narrow streets. And just as we were beginning to wonder where the hell this bloody Leaning Tower was, we suddenly got a view of it down a narrow passage. And actually, it lived up to all expectations. It really is a fabulous site and well worth the visit to Pisa just for that. Of course we did what no one else before us had done and posed while propping up the Tower or pushing it over. It amused us, if no one else ;)
Having traipsed Pisa the night before and now that the Tower could be ticked off our list, we decided to grab a few treats for lunch from a local bakery, hop in the car and head for Florence...
