hmm; ok this is not a travel blog and it is not about cebu but im trying to funciton with the limits of the forms. as i have requested information i am trying to offer some in return. this is a summary of some things to know, rejoice in and avoid in the visayas. (no sure i am spelling this right) but i am refering to the central philippines. i have been there 4 times. cebu is a much better choice for an airport than manila; its simple and easy to navigate; they have insitgated airport only taxis goin out which only is an issue if yer going a short distance as the drop rate is higher; but the real problem is it makes it difficult to get a taxi to the airport as general population drivers dont want to go there as they wont be able to pick up a return fare. if you have the bucks the marriott down by the fancier of the two big malls is the choice but its not something i can afford for more than one nite. its some place to stop for that 1 nite on yer way in to recover from a long-distance flight. the ayayla mall next door has a new walkway outdoor part that is mostly restaurants. the one with "moon" in the name is affordable and good. cebu should only be a transit point to beaches. my favorite beaches are bantayan island (santa fe), alona beach (pangalo island, bohol) and camiguin (which really isnt in the visayas and really doesn't have a beach). ill write addtional installments later
