Getting to Boracay was fairly easy starting with the dilapidated domestic airport in Manila.  No need to be 2 hours early for this place, its just a room!  You sit around a bit and then get a bus to your prop plane for SEAir.  The flight was short and pleasant and we landed right in Caticlan.  Our hotel, Friday’s, was brilliant in arranging transport and the guys were there to meet us with a van.  A short van ride and then onto an outrigger boat for another short cruise to the island of Boracay.  The sun was out and we were excited!

Another van ride got us to the complex with welcome drinks and a guide to tour the area.

Lots of thatched roofs, bamboo, palm trees and sandy walk ways.  The complex was brilliant, everything you could want and a private section of White Beach.  There is a man to give you towels and watch your stuff and some big waves in the sea and more than ample security from beach hawkers.  We loved it.

The restaurant/bar serves amazing food and drinks with a daily happy hour and overlooks the beach.  We never tired of the food or the drinks and the staff were friendly happy and helpful!  The beach is as good as you read, beautiful powdery white sand, loads of kite surfers and warm crystal clear water.

What more could you want for a week?  Bright blue skies would have been nice!  September is the tail end of the rainy season and it proved to be quite stormy.  We spent a lot of time dodging rain going from beach chair to bar to room and back.  Storms blow through quick but the wind is very strong and the rain chucks down!  We made the best of it and took in the sun when we could.  It was very relaxing sitting on my balcony hammock and reading for hours on end which was more than enough for me.
