This day starts at 3am on the 16th of Jan. Five of us meet up at the park and ride in white marsh to car pool to BWI airport. 13 hours later and four different planes we arrive on the Island of Utila, Hondorus. The last two plane rides were quite interesting. One of the run ways to land started right over the mts of Tegucigalpa, Hondorus and our plane was able to stop right before the run way ended. But the last plane ride was even more interesting. We stop on this runaway about 25 ft from the end and the co pilot goes "ewwh...good job" and pats the pilot on his back. We all pile into a type of crew van for our 10min. drive to Utila Lodge. We all met in the dining area and was giving a briefing by the staff then all went to our rooms as the men delivered everyones bag to their room. Everyone except my roommate and I(Kim). Apparently the plane could not take all our gear over so we were the two unlucky individuals without any of our checked gear. The staff promised that it would be in before our first dive in the AM the next morning. We kept our spirits up and still took in our surroundings. Our beautiful room with the excellent view, the fact that we were on vacation and together and they promised it would be here by tomorrow. We unpacked the few things we had in our carry on luggage then explored the resort until the dinner bell rang. We all met at the dinner table and had rice, beans, chicken and beef with fresh fruit. After dinner my roommate and I layed in the hammock and watched the sunset and started reading (Im currently reading The Bourne Betryal) until we got sleepy. We knew 6am would come around pretty soon.
