Sonoma
July 1, 1987
After visiting Muir Woods, we meandered further north as far as Sonoma. There, we toured two wineries in an abbreviated visit to the California wine country.
Along the way into Sonoma, I happened to spot the Depot Park Museum. Always up for a musuem, I pulled in and parked the car. Susan and Carole, wanting to press on to the wine country, remained by the car to hasten my museum-going. It was a nice small museum operated by the Sonoma Valley Historical Society and set in a well-kept park. The musem ladies were happy to have a visitor from out of town and asked me to sign the guest book. There were exhibits on the Miwok Indians, the California Bear Flag Revolt of 1846, Sonoma local history, and, of course, local railroad history.
