Homeward Bound
May 26, 2007
The next day I got up bright and early, got some breakfast and, reluctantly, headed east on Rt. 20 for the 210 mile drive home. I would have loved to keep driving south along the coast all the way into Mexico and beyond, but decided to save that trip for another time.
For a stretch through the mountains along Rt. 20 I found myself going parallel to another branch of the Santiam River. While I haven’t been trout fishing in years, I was almost tempted by the sight of this wild, beautiful, stream to take it up again. There are many sites along the stream where you can camp for $10.00 a night.
