First metro ride in Athens
We woke up very early. My cousin drove us to the airport. Nothing special happened at the airport, and that's actually great news, because RJ is being harras usually by the security guys at all airports. This time it must have been the special promotion for asians "no touching before flying". We landed in Athens
- in the middle of spring- at least for me the temperatures seemed like nice spring. Just wonderful! We took the metro from the airport and went straight to the hotel in Athens. It looked pretty nice, with old style staircase.
By the way, at the airport we harrased the baggage service lady about new adress where they should deliver the lost bag of kLumpel. She wasnt a very nice person but finally took that adress.
Then we went to see the Akropoli first.
Ακρόπολη / Akropoli
.. probably as all the tourists that come to Athens. When yu get off at that metro station u can see suddenly the hill with Parthenon on it. We arrived there after it got already dark and it looked just amazing, with all those lights over the city. Then we went to those narrow streets with all the souvenirs shops and restaurants in Plaka
(borrough underneath the Akropoli) but then we climbed a bit and got into the super narrow streets with small houses as yu might know from postcards from Greece... and it wasnt even in Santorini
or Crete but right at the Akropoli.
After that we went around the Akropoli hill, stunned over the city at night, and saw the temple of Hefaystos, nicely lighted in the dark. We tryed to find that place but we failed several times, and finally we went to the restaurant at Thissio for dinner, that was the first greek food. Lili as always had her chicken and that was pretty sad, coz she eats only chicken hahahaha. In the late evening we came to the hotel and that's all for the first afternoon in Greece.
