After a snowstorm in Stockholm

Iced and snowed in!

A couple of days earlier my Swedish colleagues have laughed about the way they Danes had tackled the snowstorm that hit the country. Looking in retrospect I think that it was handled pretty well; the railroads took out 20 percent of the trains and the rest went on time, but the planes had to cancel a lot and loads of roads were blocked and loads of people went home early to not have troubles in the traffic.

As soon as I landed in Arlanda the day before the snowstorm hit Stockholm, and the snow continued to fall for more and 20 hours, and when I woke there was snow everywhere due to the fact that it had been snowing all night. Looking out the hotel window made me smile; I actually have a very ambivalent relationship with snow. I love when it is snowing hard and long; I love deep snow but I hate wet snow and the cold.

Stockholm was pretty blocked as well I must admit; my taxi driver was late due to the traffic and trains were cancel and planes delayed too.

this was nice to read:....I think I would smile when I saw the snow... thanks to Sweetski I actually know what you mean when you say you hate wet snow... bless his heart: he went to great lengths to explain snow qualities to me ... gotta love him for that patience...
