This church is where my grandparents were married.
For the majority of my trip, Jason and I stayed at my Uncle Jim's house. It was the first real chance for me, to spend time with my uncle. He is so completely and utterly the opposite of my mother it is amazing. Yet at the same time.. the two of them are so obviously brother and sister. It is quite the enigma. Both love to argue, although she is quick to anger (as am I.. my friends have taken to calling me the "angry little man" and napoleon) while he never raises his voice. Uncle Jim speaks the king's english, and is a very sharp individual. I absolutely loved our discussions and our arguments. Best memories would definately be Uncle Jim introducing Jason and I to traditional English Bitter, an argument about DVD's (which, later we found out, Uncle Jim was completely correct in, and we were dead wrong), and of course the soup organization technique. Hopefully next time we'll be able to take in some good ole English football and some cricket, of which my uncle is an avid fan.
If you're looking for a place to drink in Godstone
, there are three pubs. Of the three the Hare and Hound has the best atmosphere by far.
