My Travbuddy girlfriend Judy (Hummingbird) came to mind as we drove to Sierra Vista, she was on my mind because of humming birds, she loves them. Sierra Vista is known as the Humming bird capital of the United States. Bird watching is the one tourism activity that you can engage in if you find your self in Sierra Vista besides hiking the beautiful Huachuca mountains. Sierra Vista itself is not much of an activities town since there is really not much to do. We did not go bird watching, but I have considered bird watch for a while now and I think I should plan a day to go on a bird watching expedition. We did not spend much time in Sierra Vista as we had decided to go to Bisbee or Tombstone. As we headed to Tombstone however we made a shot stop at the San Pedro Riparian bed; along this river bed are the largest dwellings of species of hummingbirds. Did you know that Sierra Vista is considered the Hummingbird capital of the United States? well it is. It is host to 13 species of hummingbirds dwelling along the San Pedro Riparian. The Migration of the hummingbirds presents an opportunity to view over 1,000 hummingbirds, a delight no doubt to the bird lover.
