Another day, another dam

Edmonds Locks Travel Blog | Travelogue | Travel Journal

My (driving) trip along the Rideau Canal from Ottawa to Kingston, with stops along the way in various towns and at locks. Come with me to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the opening of this Canadian National Historic (and now World) Heritage Site!

Another day, another dam

Edmonds Locks proved to be a bit easier to find than Kilmarnock had. I parked the car and no one was around except for a few boaters a little further away, so I wandered a bit and took my pictures. It didn't take long before the lock staff appeared from the house and we chatted a bit about the area and about my trip.

I walked across one of the lock doors to the other side to go see the dam. I was quite surprised at how accessible it was to the dam, there was no fences blocking anyone from practically walking on it! I saw a couple of guys nearby in a boat fishing while taking my pictures (as you'll see!), then headed back to my car to make my way to my next stop, Kilmarnock Locks.
