I had been wanting to try Rooster for some time (better than a year), but had not had the opportunity. This morning, however, my sister called me to meet her in Fairview Heights to shop, even though I would have to come over from Springfield. Knowing she would have to leave fairly early to get back home to work, I decided to head on over to St. Louis (about 20 minutes further) to eat at Rooster. This would also be my first foray in traveling solo. I called OnStar, my navigation advisor, and was on my way.
Rooster is located right down town and it was such a pretty day. Being by myself, I sat at the bar, and looked over the menu. I was pretty sure I wanted pancakes -- only my favorite thing to eat -- but debated on the crepes, which seemed to be their featured dish. The waitress convinced me to get pancakes, and when debating between chocolate chip and nutella, she told me I could get both -- bring it on! They were pretty darn good pancakes; nice and fluffy and ooey, gooey warm.
Since I still had time, and it was such a nice day (sixty degrees in November... it was heaven!), I thought about going to the Arch. I drove along the Riverfront, but couldn't find a parking space (I didn't really want to pay for garage parking because I wasn't going to be there long). I ended up on the road that goes to the interstate, though, and that cut my visit short.
