Solar Eclipse China 2009

So, I know it's been a little while ago, but in July I went to China with my sister to witness the Solar Eclipse there... and I have to say it was probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life!!! The weather predictions weren't very good, actually all the people who went to Shanghai and stayed in that region didn't get to see a lot of it because it was all clouded and rainy... But from where we were, we were able to see a great deal of it in between the rain and clouds... and when the Eclipse was total, the clouds were gone for like 40 seconds so we did get to see the Corona for some time!!! It's amazing that in a matter of seconds it get's totally dark... I had goosebumps all over my body and I have to admit that I kind of got a little emotional.
Unfortunately we only went to China for 10 days, but I got to spend 4 days in Beijing and 3 days in Shanghai... got to see the Great Wall, the Olympic Stadion, the Forbidden City, the Summerpalace and the Tian'men Square, among other things. It was an experience I will never forget! And words don't really mean a thing, so I'm just going to show you the pictures... and maybe that will convince people to go and see a Solar Eclipse at least once in their lives, and to go and visit China.
I wanted to go to Easter Island next year because there is another Solar Eclipse there, but as it seems, there are no flights available for that period... so I guess I will have to wait and see it hopefully in Kenia/Tanzania in 2013. Well, those countries have been high up my list anyways and this is a nice opportunity to combine these two things.
