This time, we were trapped in a severe traffic jam. We left the house at 6 am and arrived at 9 am. Normally, if there is no traffic jam, we should be there by 07.30 am. Well, what can we say? It's understandable because this is a long weekend (from Friday to Sunday because Friday is a national holiday).
First thing to do when we got there was having a lunch. Followed by opening Raka's birthday presents, did a little trekking to a waterfall, then watched some animal shows: a dolphins show and a cowboys show.
After staying overnight and having breakfast in the morning, everybody went back home except my family. We continued to see the elephant show, the tiger show, the penguins, and we walked around the small zoo above the amusement park. Those are still in the area of TSI. We also took a ride by an open air "looked like train" bus to go around the whole area. That ride cost only IDR 15,000 (=USD 1.5) per person and you can take the ride back and forth as many as you like. Since the contour of the area is up and up, it's better to take this ride. Using car is not efficient since there were so many tourists and to find a parking space was difficult. It consumes lots of time only to find an available spot to park the car and sometimes it's too far from the location where you wanted to be.
Overall, I think this park is really good for a short trip. TSI has so many to offer. From doing the safari, the amusement park, the animal shows, trekking, outbound, a waterfall, a hotel, caravans, a camping ground, even you can ride an elephant to do the trekking around the area. The latest facility is a water park (we haven't been there yet). To know more, you can visit the site by yourself: http://www.tamansafari.com/
