A visit to another world ... Moominworld!
Just a week ago I came back from a visit to another world! WOW, you might say, how did you get there? Well, as a matter of fact, I took the ferry from Stockholm to Turku, and then a short car ride. I'm talking about Moominworld, a place for children young and old. As it happens, my 3-year-old nephew is Moomin crazy, and my 4-month-old niece probably will be too as she grows up, so the entire family went and enjoyed the Moominworld in Naantali, a short ride outside of Turku.
Moominworld is located on a small island in Naantali and if you love the Moomin characters and the Moomin valley, you will feel right at home here. You can take prams everywhere, it's not overly commercial รก la Disney but quite tastefully done, and the burgers were actually tasty! We stayed at the Spa Hotel in Naantali which is a short walk away from Moominworld, and the extra perks there provided us adults with what we needed (pools! bar! a good night's sleep!).
In short: if you have children of your own, or nieces and nephews who love Moomin, or if you haven't quite grown up yourself, this is the place to go to.
