Outside the castle walls...the girls spent 10 minutes takingpics of these flowers!

Last night was a crazy long night bus with the radio blasting the entire time, but I'm finally in Belgrade, and glad to see the girls again. The cab driver refused to give me change after dropping me off, but whatever-I'll live. I couldn't actually find the right building, but a nice guy helped me find it, though I thought it was odd that he insisted on walking up to the hostel with me, finally leaving after I found the owner. The guy at my hostel the night before had said he had booked a place for me here, but no dice-I was glad when there was actually an extra bed in the room with a sleepy Aimee, MacKayla, and Andrea when I got there at 6 AM.

The day was spent walking around the city, not able to go into any museums since it's a Monday and they're all closed.

Yup, I operate the big guns!
Seeing the old fortress and various ruins was pretty cool though, and of course we were your usual tourists, climbing all over the old artillary and taking silly photos. It started raining as the evening died down, which meant a lovely nap then a late dinner at a cute Italian restaurant-with French music, Spanish wine, and Greek salads. Odd, yes; delicious even more so-not sure why I've been craving pasta so much lately but this definitely satisfied me.

After dinner the girls figured out the next few days of their itinerary, which luckily was able to skip Bucarest, and head straight to Simisoara and Brasov, two mideival towns in Transylvania. Stoked I wouldn't be spending my birthday alone, I didn't much mind the prospect of a night train the next day!
