Christmas and New Year Polska style

Wow!! What a sweet couple of weeks!!
Have had a proper English Christmas thanks to one of our guest families who came out and spent the day with us (and cooked for us, thanks Pea!). The day had a really family feel about it with all of the Sunshine World Pro-Team, Pea and Dave's family as well as the next door neighbours their kids and their dog all round for a proper Christmas day, Santa even made an appearance after his busy night!
The atmosphere in Zakopane has been great with the town absolutley buzzing with thousands of Poles coming to town for the festivities. New years was an awesome night with large quantities of champagne, in a local club Amstrong, which let us bring in our own drink, film the whole thing and celebrate new year’s twice, once for Polish and then again for English!!
I have spent my time teaching mostly beginner guests up on the hill and exploring what Zakopane has to offer (a lot), the town has so many ski and snowboard shops and you can even haggle over the already cheap prices for most equipment!
We had a week or so with no snow over Christmas and New Year but the ski slopes stayed open with some excellent conditions on piste thanks to snow cannons and the local experts work. It has now started to snow again! over the last few days and the place is looking white and clean in the daytime sun which means we have absolutely brilliant skiing/snowboarding.
I’ll write again soon,
