Breakfast at Stockholm Arlanda Airport

We woke around 6:00am, checked out after a very nice night's sleep, and made our way to the other end of the terminal. Here we found the automated check-in machine,  got our seat assignments, then went to the ticket counter to check our luggage. There were a few other passengers in line for British Airways when we arrived, but no one at the counter...they weren't open yet! So, we waited, and waited, and finally, about an hour later, three employees of British Airways arrived and opened the counter and started checking us all in. Quick and easy, we were done and on our way to our departure gate. We made it through security, then a short walk to passport control, then a long walk to our gate. So once through all the check points, we checked out the food options, then decided on pastries, coffee and some juice. Even though we knew we would get food on the plane, we wanted to eat now just in case the plane food was as poor as it was on the trip here.

The time has come to board our plane, and since we checked in early enough, we had a window & isle seat next to each other this time.

The sun coming up as we wait to be de-iced
The 10:00am sunrise was blocked by the building as I looked out the plane window, but still beautiful. After our plane was de-iced, we were finally off!  Shortly into the flight, we were served something that was supposed to be breakfast...a very questionable tomato & bacon sandwich. Actually, it was a tomato spread of some kind and cold bacon..yuck!!! I've had good and bad food on planes before, but this had to be the worst ever!!!!! If you ever fly British Airways, eat first or bring your own!!! You have been warned!

As we flew past the west coast line of Sweden, just below the southern tip of Norway and out over the Atlantic Ocean, we said good bye to Sweden. What an amazing time we had, one we will never forget!! Looks like I need to update my "Most Memorable Travel Experience" section on my home page now!! :)

Hej då Sverige och tack så mycket!!

(Good bye Sweden and thank you so much)

I know Keith. Only about 5 hours of light this time of year. You should visit in the summer when the sun comes up at 3:00am and sets around 10:30pm! :)
