Taken during our walk from the train station in Gävle to moms apartment.

We arrived in Gävle an hour and a half later, and then made the 15 minute walk to Lena’s moms’ apartment. The temperature is about -12C, and a bit breezy, but it is not snowing.

We spent the rest of the evening relaxing, and getting caught up, and of course she fixed us a great dinner, Wallenbergare which is veal patties in a cream sauce…very yummy!!!

The room we have rented here is in the building next door, and is set up to be used as a party or meeting place. There is a separate kitchen, a large “L” shaped room with many small tables and chairs, and in one corner a big couch and table. There are two bathrooms, but no shower or tub which means we will be using the shower at Lena’s moms place. There is a second room where there are four roll away cots. We decided to take the four mattresses off of them and stack them on the floor. Since we like a firm mattress, we figured this would be better than trying to sleep separately on cots. It actually was very comfortable, and except for the pillows being too soft for my liking, our first night sleep here was ok. The cost of renting this room for a week is about the same as one night in a hotel, so it will do just fine. Oh, and we have our own Christmas Tree already decorated, so it feels a little bit like home :)

Tomorrow, we will do some shopping with Lena’s mom, and find me a good pillow more like what I’m use to at home! :)
