karimun fisherman's pier
A fresh morning in Semarang, after a good night rest from a long drive from Jakarta-Wonosobo-Semarang. We headed Tanjung Emas harbour in northern Semarang to catch a boat which will bring us to Karimunjawa Islands. Rp 110.000 each for a one way business class ticket of Kartini-1 boat. 9 am sharp, we started sailing the water of Java sea. Not much to see, since I got so sleepy and passed out! Some friends told me, they often see dolphins jumping in front of our eyes!
12.30 pm. Karimunjawa Isle, with 27 beautiful islands, is quite a famous place to visit during the holidays. The white sandy beaches of some islands can be a very fun place to get a perfect tan on your skin - not for my skin, i'm dark enough :). We rented two rooms of a homestay near the fisherman's pier, only Rp 50.

000 - Rp 80.000 for a night. quite cheap! Actually, the homestay owner could also provide us with fresh baked seafood for every mealtime, around Rp 10-000-Rp 20.000 per person. But we chose to eat at a small 'warung' near the beach for a cheaper price. Well, if you prefer a better place to rest, this island also provides you with nice small hotels, and even expensive resorts.
17.00 pm. Sunset time! The sky was clear when the sun started to go down. Beautiful view of the sea with shiny twinkle of the sun made the evening even more romantic.
Sunday morning, we rented a small fisherman boat and had a trip around some islands. Had a short snorkle in Cemara Island & Menjangan Island. Nice beautiful white sandy beach - of course, it's wouldn't be perfect without a slurp of a fresh coconut. hmmm....:)
Not a magnificent trip, but quit okay for a weekend hideaway.
