Great Wine and Great Music

Recently two of our best friends admitted to us that they had never been to a winery. This couple has been our friends for awhile and we have been out together on many occasions. Frequently we pick them up to go for coffee and some fun jazz on Saturday mornings and the Visalia Coffee Company. But I digress.
We had heard previously that for this one Sunday afternoon each year all of the wineries along the coast near Paso Robles have a big day of music, and wine tasting, with good food and plenty of specials. This was that weekend.
It didn’t take a whole lot of arm twisting to get us to drive. After all we would be going to a great winery we had visited a few years back and listening all afternoon to our favorite smooth jazz group, ZZAH.
We picked them up shortly before 10 a.m. and after a quick trip to the bank got on the road to the coast. The trip was about 120 miles and we figured to get there just about noon. The weather looked promising for a nice day at about 85 degrees F. (29C)
This year has been a dry winter here in our area of the far west. I took a few pictures as we drove, showing the dry low-rolling hills and then watched as the area nearer the coast began to show the green of the grape vines. By noon we had arrived and found a great place in the shade to relax and enjoy the afternoon. The band was just setting up and the music began. We tasted several of the fine wines and ate some great food.
Sorry you can’t enjoy the wine with us, but at least enjoy the pictures we took.
