The roof top gang

First arrival of my first big trip how exciting, I really had nothing planned apart from airfares. I began to research where I should go, getting confused with the bus service I decided to choose Chinatown which ended up being the right choice. I soon met Warren Hamilton Richie what a extraordinary name and a guy from Australia too. We wondered down the street after arriving in Chinatown, he booked into his dragon inn hostel as I went next door to find Grocers Inn as Dragon was booked out. Just having a few beers and exploring Chinatown, eating where locals are turns out to be cheaper.

During the night a lot of people were on roof top, I introduced myself and we soon found ourselves buying bottles of vodka at the shop downstairs across the road.

Up on the roof top again we started to play a drinking card game which I never done before. I never met anyone who could drink as much as me, but at this stage I was pretty amateur drinker, not until I went to Ireland I studied the arts of drinking. Playing cards it seemed everyone picked on me and having a girl being my drinking buddy during the game we both ended up too dizzy to play and folded out being the end of the night for us...

I explored KL in the 3 days I spent here. I took a train and went to the twin towers while meeting some English girls. Visited a Mosque for the first time and saw prayers and stayed and had tea with the workers there. Had a free tour of old station Betang after bumping into 10 or so tour guides in training. I saw a formula 1 being set up. Best of all I visited Batu Caves which you have to take a bus to reach.

Batu caves is a very scenic place as there is a massive Hindu statue in front, with a long straight stair case leading to the top of a open light cave with incredible crazy monkeys lurking about. Loving photography I certainly enjoyed the hike while taking photos and in race with Warren and my new fond Japanese friends Chiyo and Hiro. I reunited with Hiro Nakamura recently in Tokyo which is another story to be told. Maybe another extraordinary name as similar from TV show Heroes.

I did not know at the time but this was only the first of many experiences that was to be had by the miraculous wonders of travelling, which the bug has now spread through my veins and heart.
