Up sharp at 8am and got myself sorted and went down in the lift to the reception to check out. Enquires about the courtesy bus to the airport ,that Novotel run, and was told it would be here in 10 minutes. It arrived, but the driver went inside to chat to the receptionist, as I was the only one waiting and he obviously wasn't having a busy morning.
Took just over 5 minutes to get to the airport, and was dropped off right outside the departures terminal and went in. Found the check in desks and although it did seem busy they were pretty quick and I was off with my boarding card 15 minutes later. No rush to get through to departures, so had a wander around the airport. Not the best I've ever been in, and surprisingly few shops and bars considering what a popular tourist airport it must be.
Eventually decided it was time to go through, and again there were a limited number of shops, though on the first floor area there were a couple of souvenir shops, a duty free shop and an extortionate restaurant. Flight was called sharp and by the time I got to the gate I was one of the first and they had already started boarding the aircraft.
Weird take off pattern as it took off inland and then turned back out over the Mediterranean Sea and along before crossing back over land and heading up through Spain. Cloudless almost all all the way and got great view crossing back over the UK all the way down the Devon and Cornwall peninsula, probably right over Plymouth and then further up a great view down over Liverpool and the Mersey area
