Crossing borders

To get to Thailand from Battambang can go on the difficult way or the more convenient variant. We didn't go for public transport, but choose a private car with driver. He leaded us right out of Battambang onto a dirt road heading west to Pailin. This drive took us a few hours bumping and sweating. Near Pailin the driver dropped us at the Cambodian side of the border, where we got a stamp and were allowed to walk to the Thai customs. After filling in some papers for the necessary red tape we were allowed to cross the Thai border: we were in Thailand again!

A chabby taxi driver with an old big American car drove us over roads in perfect condition to Trat. From Trat ferries take of to the island Koh Chang.

Koh Chang was our final destination of our Indochina trip. A few days of relaxation in a nice resort with swimming pool, where we rented a little house near the beach. That's life! We didn't leave the resort and took the waterfalls on the island for granted. All we did was enjoy the sea, sun, pool and restaurant. A nice way to end your holidays.

From Trat we had an inland flight to Bangkok, right where we started our trip three weeks ago...
