It was almost 2pm when we arrived to Ticlio, which is the highest point in Lima: 4,758m... After coming back from the bar wagon I decided to read a bit but changed my mind when I started to get dizzy... what's going on? Oh yes! we are reaching the highest point of the trip. I remember once I took the bus to Huancayo and you pass Ticlio. Besides being very cold, most of the people who left the bus got sick... Train didn't stop here, but despite the heating and comfort you could notice we were getting higher and higher.

How did I notice we were getting closer to Ticlio? Well, besides of the fact that it got cooler. I needed to look for my long sleeves shirt.

It was getting harder to breathe... All my life I thought Ticlio wasn't part of Lima, but then I listened they said that Ticlio was the highest point in Lima. Believe it or not, we were still in Lima! I learned something new. At the train you could listen to some music, but it was interrupted when we were arriving to an important part of the journey or something interesting was going on, like this case. Ticlio was very cold, almost no vegetation and not many houses. I can't blame the people for not wanting live here, hehehe.

Then we reached the highest point of the journey: 4,781m. There was a station, where we stopped for about 15min. When I read we would stop here, I was thinking about taking a picture next to the sign with the altitude written on it, but it wasn't possible to do it. I wish I'd have done it, but it was so difficult to breathe and my head started to hurt... I left the train and the minute I started to walk, I felt like if I was getting weak... Furthermore, it was very cold. I had to wear my big jacket.

I walked a little, 15 steps at the most, hahaha. Just the necessary to take some pictures, proving I was at this high point and that was it. At least I wasn't the only one who didn't feel 100% ok.  As soon as I was back at the train, I closed my eyes and tried to take a nap wishing my head would go back to normal :)
