one of the few fields left...
I used to go to school in Chosica, which still belongs to Lima, but it's not that close. I remember we used to drive almost an hour daily in order to arrive to school. And somehow it seemed to be that Chosica was further away back then, than how far it's now... strange I know... well, it might be because of how much the areas between Lima and Chosica grew. Ate is the name of this area and it used to be just about a couple of houses but several fields with veggies and fruits. Lima's population keeps on growing and growing, so more housing is needed. As a result  these fields had to be turn into houses...

Unfortunately there was no planning for the development of this area, or if there was any this wasn't the most appropriate.

.. Anyway, the point is that that area which use to be more about landscapes is now a chaotic part of town with lots of houses different shapes and sizes and with a crazy traffic. It's a major highway, but people still cross it as if it was a small street, pffff.

Well, back to Chosica. Lima is usually cloudy and is humid, but not Chosica. Chosica is in the way to the highlands and has a really nice weather. Most of the year it's sunny with a deep blue sky. Life is more quiet and relax in this part of Lima. Sure it's not that convenient if you want to enjoy the city life, but it's perfect if you are looking for a getaway in the city but at same time disconnected from the city stress, hehehe. Anyway as usual Chosica was sunny and warm, so different from Lima.

It was when we were passing Chosica, that they served breakfast. Yummy! They gave each passenger a tray with a sandwich, cookie which was saved for Gunther, fruit, juice and a cup of hot beverage. Nice! I wasn't expecting this great service. Furthermore they gave each of us a ticket for 1 free Pisco Sour. There was a bar wagon at the end of the train and we could go there at any time for our free drink, yay! But better saving it for later. It was too early for a pisco sour...
