The day before a wedding is the reheasal. (A full rehearsal of the ceremony led by the celebrant.) Drew and Aubrey's was scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the church in East McKeesport. Julia arrived from Winchester just in time to meet up and the three of us to get there from Monroevlle. (As sister, she would be part of the Groom's Attendants.) All appeared to go smoothly and there would be some nice touches.
Now for the Rehearsal Dinner! The Rehearsal Dinner is traditionally put on by the Groom's family and is attended by the Wedding Party and the families. This we scheduled for 8:00 p.m. to allow guests time to travel to downtown Pittsburgh (and for us to pick up the Rehearsal Dinner cake at a McKeesport bakery).
Not familiar wth Pittsburgh restaurants and venues, Susan and I had to make arangements by long-distance.
Spaghetti Warehouse is in Pittsburgh's Strip District, a elongated rectangular zone of food markets, restaurants, and clubs. (The Strip has its origins as the location of wholesale food markets and warehouses.) It's an interesting neighborood I'd like to explore more. There are markets like the popular Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. dealing in Italian foods. Both the Pittsburgh Opera and the Pittsburgh Ballet have their costume and props warehouses here. Appropriately, a block from Spaghetti Warehouse was a bridal shop with a large Bride and Groom on the roof!
